Thanks to [info]texwriterbear (Sean Kramer) for the subject matter for this challenge. This month we'll examine your favorite photo of CLOUDS...but with a twist...add an additional subject matter. If we look through the recap post after the challenge is over, I don't want just a bunch of cloud pictures...even if the clouds are extraordinary, they'll all run together! Use a secondary subject matter and yours will stand out. Use your best creativity to find a subject that will complement the cloud component. The combination should draw the viewer into the photo. See, in the announcement photo above, how the photographer has you looking at the clouds...but the subject of the woman and the toy bear are what make you "feel" the photo. Remember to think outside the box and use components that will make it make it your own.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
LJ_Disturbed

Happy Halloween to everyone! What are you wearing this year? I'm dressing as a scotsman in a kilt...but since that isn't so scary, and it is All Hallows Eve, here's something a little more...

For me, the best thing about [info]wooferstl's daily postings are his associations with friends. And he has tons of friends because he knows how friendships work - you give and you get...and the more you give, the more you get. One of the great lessons of life.

Here I am with some LJers at Lazy Behr last November when Jeff, Jamie, Travis, Jared and many others visited Palm Springs.

I know you've turned 50 now, Woofer, but I'll be 49 in January and I'm chasing you!

Everyone has seen boring renderings of their family group during the holiday season...this month, choose a group shot, but stretch your creativity. In the above 3 examples, you can see different ideas for making group shots more exciting and artistic. One is very uniform, one is made of shadows and one is very animated and colorful. Try making a really creative people-oriented group photo this month. Go your local park and take pictures of the kids playing sports from an unusual perspective or go to a senior center and get a group shot that is out of the ordinary. A group is defined as two or more people, so that should be fairly easy! Remember to think outside the box and use components that will make it totally out of the ordinary.

AIDSWALK LOS ANGELES - This upcoming Sunday!

Some of my Live Journal friends have been very generous and have sponsored me this year. For this I thank you! Others, I haven't heard from...can you please dig deep into your pockets this year and give to this great cause? As some of you know, I lost my partner Bryon Martel to AIDS on Aug. 31, 1993. His spirit lives in me every day, but I don't want anyone else have to die from this virus and the complications that follow.

I am writing to let you know that I have registered for AIDS Walk Los Angeles and am very excited about the event. This is a very important issue to me so I have set an ambitious fundraising goal. I want to do as much as I can to make a difference in the lives of men, women, and children affected by HIV and AIDS. Even though there has been a lot of publicity about drug treatments which are prolonging some people's lives, they don't work for everyone and there is still no cure in sight. Moreover, young people are still getting infected at alarmingly high rates.

I want your help. Will you please sponsor me for the AIDS Walk? Just click on the website address below to enter my personalized web page and charge your donation. Thank you, in advance, for supporting this important cause and for showing that you join me in wanting to end this epidemic.
